Day of Rest Law / Workweek and Work Schedules

For Life Home Care is committed to complying with Georgia labor laws regarding employee scheduling, work hours, and rest periods. Work schedules are assigned based on business needs, client care requirements, employee availability, and operational demands.

Employees are expected to report to work on time and complete their scheduled shifts. Requests for schedule changes, shift swaps, or time off should be submitted to management as early as possible for approval.

Whenever reasonably possible, employees will be provided adequate time for rest between scheduled shifts. Meal and rest breaks will be provided in accordance with applicable law and operational needs.

Employees who are unable to report to work as scheduled must notify their supervisor immediately, following company attendance procedures.

The company reserves the right to adjust schedules, assign overtime, modify staffing assignments, and alter work hours as necessary to meet patient and business needs.

Immigration Law Compliance Policy

For Life Home Care complies with all federal and state immigration laws, including employment eligibility verification requirements.

All employees must provide valid documentation establishing identity and authorization to work in the United States as required by federal law. The company completes and maintains Form I-9 documentation for all employees.

The company does not knowingly employ individuals who are not legally authorized to work in the United States.

Employees are expected to cooperate with lawful requests related to employment eligibility verification and documentation updates.


Jury Duty Leave Policy

For Life Home Care supports employees in fulfilling their civic responsibilities.

Employees summoned for jury duty must notify management as soon as possible and provide a copy of the jury summons when available.

Employees may take unpaid leave for the duration of jury duty service unless otherwise required by law or company policy. Employees are expected to return to work when released from jury duty if there is sufficient time remaining in their scheduled workday.

Retaliation for jury duty service is strictly prohibited.


Military Service Leave Policy

For Life Home Care complies with the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) and applicable Georgia laws regarding military service leave.

Employees who are members of the uniformed services may take leave for military training, service obligations, or related duties as provided by law.

Employees should provide advance notice of military leave whenever practical.

Eligible employees returning from military service will be reinstated in accordance with applicable law and provided all rights and protections required under USERRA.

Discrimination or retaliation based on military service or obligations is strictly prohibited.


Sick Leave Policy

Employees are encouraged to stay home when ill to protect the health and safety of clients, coworkers, and the community.

Employees who are unable to report to work due to illness, injury, or medical appointments must notify their supervisor as early as possible in accordance with company call-out procedures.

Sick leave benefits, if applicable, will be administered according to company policy, employee classification, and applicable law.

Abuse of sick leave, excessive absenteeism, or failure to properly report absences may result in disciplinary action.

The company may request medical documentation when permitted by law.


Voting Leave Policy

For Life Home Care encourages employees to participate in the voting process.

Employees who do not have sufficient time outside of working hours to vote in an official election may request reasonable time off in accordance with Georgia law.

Employees should provide reasonable advance notice if time off to vote is needed.

The company may specify the hours during which employees may be absent for voting purposes, consistent with operational needs and applicable law.


Witness Duty Leave Policy

Employees required to appear in court as a witness pursuant to a subpoena or legal requirement must notify management as soon as possible.

Employees may take unpaid leave for witness duty unless otherwise required by law or company policy.

The company may request documentation supporting the need for leave.

Employees appearing in court for personal matters unrelated to legally required witness service may be required to use available paid time off or unpaid personal leave.

Retaliation for complying with lawful witness obligations is strictly prohibited.


Workweek and Work Schedule Policy

The standard workweek for payroll and scheduling purposes is determined by the company and may vary depending on department and operational needs.

Due to the nature of home care services, employees may be assigned daytime, evening, overnight, weekend, holiday, live-in, or rotating shifts.

Employees are responsible for reviewing and confirming their schedules and promptly communicating any conflicts or availability changes.

Overtime must be authorized in advance by management unless emergency circumstances require otherwise. Nonexempt employees will be paid overtime in accordance with applicable wage and hour laws.

The company reserves the right to modify schedules, staffing assignments, and work hours at any time based on patient care demands and business operations.
